Dion graduated from Elkaland High School in 1991. He particiapted in basketball, track, tennis, baseball, and soccer, wherre he was All-NTL his senior year. Dion was a 1,000 point scorer and was MVP of the Addison Holiday Classic, and a member of the All-Tournament team in the Prattsburg Christmas Tournament. He was on the All-NTL team his junior and senior years. He attended Keuka College where he participated in basketball and soccer.
