Richard Jackson

Richard is a 1949 graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School. He played varsity basketball his junior and senior years. He graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College in 1960. He started his coaching career in 1961 as Jr. High boys basketball coach. Dick coach Jr. High and JV teams until 1974 and was on the coaching staff of the 1969 State champion boys basketball team. In 1977 he took over as girls varsity coach and enjoyed 16 consecutive seasons, which included numerous league titles and District IV titles in 1980 and 1981. The 1981 team went to the state quarterfinals.
