Tom graduated from Crestwood High School in 1979. Tom partcipated in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Tom graduated from Mansfield University in 1984 where he both played and coached the defensive line and special teams. Tom was All Twin Tiers Coach of the Year in 2003. Tom was also selected as NTL Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2011.
